Malcom Morgan
Associate Director of Student Engagement at St. John's College
Malcom Morgan-Petty is a driven and enthusiastic higher education professional with five years of
experience, currently serving as the Student Activities Coordinator at St. John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In this role, he coordinates campus events, supervises and manages multiple facets of the campus, and works closely with the student population to empower them as problem solvers and leaders.
Prior to his current position, Malcom served as a Senior Campus Life Coordinator at Santa Fe
University of Art and Design for 1 year and 8 months, where he oversaw multiple student leadership
groups and all campus organizations. He enhanced the overall campus life experience by
coordinating meaningful events that catered to the student body type while empowering students to become leaders. Malcom also managed student workers, resident assistants, and student
ambassadors, supervised club/organizations and student-led events, programmed campus
activities/events, and managed the student activities budget.
Before his time as a Senior Campus Life Coordinator, Malcom worked as an Enrollment Advisor for
Santa Fe University of Art and Design for 3 years and 3 months. He worked with a pipeline of over
2,500 prospective theatre applicants and assisted them through the application process all the way
through their first few weeks of college. The enrollment advisor position required constant contact
and personal relationships with each student/family that showed interest. Malcom scheduled campus visits, auditions, class sit-ins, and open house events to help showcase the university.
Prior to his work in higher education, Malcom worked as the Executive Director of Operations at Petty Clinic PLLC for 1 year and 1 month. In this role, he developed and maintained the employee
handbook, contract addendums, mission statement, policies/procedures, application process, clinic
survey, training materials, and employee contracts. He also managed patient paperwork and collected on delinquent accounts while negotiating re-payments when necessary. Malcom conducted staff training sessions and professional development opportunities to ensure HIPPA compliance and encouraged a positive work flow within clinic environment. He was also available as a medical assistant and emergency on-call contact when needed.
Malcom received his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership and Management from Walden
University in 2019, his Master of Science (M.S.) in College Teaching and Learning from Walden
University in 2016, and his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre from Santa Fe University of
Art and Design in 2013. He also studied Musical Theatre-Hair, Makeup & Costume Design at
Mclennan Community College from 2008 to 2011.
