About Us

LiveArts Santa Fe was founded in 2017 as a response to the announcement that Santa Fe University of Art and Design (SFUAD) would be closing. Former College of Santa Fe (CSF) faculty member Cheryl Odom and alum Rueben Greenwald started a grassroots movement on facebook called #SaveTheGreer, which mobilized alumni from both colleges, and members of the local performing arts community to ensure that the Greer Garson Theatre Center remained a performing arts venue.

The movement was incorporated as LiveArts Santa Fe in 2019, and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2023. With a mission to inspire, engage, and transform, LiveArts is working to create a vibrant and inclusive arts community through innovative performances, education, and accessible spaces. The organization is committed to bringing fresh perspectives to the arts and is advocating for revitalizing the Greer Garson Theatre Center to make it a hub for creativity and culture in the 21st century.

Mission

To engage, inspire, and embrace a multi-cultural, neurodiverse, and multi-generational community by eliminating barriers in the performing arts.  LiveArts Santa Fe aspires to amplify all creative voices through offering innovative and inclusive artistic work & education.

Vision

LiveArts Santa Fe envisions a future where every voice is heard, every culture is celebrated, and every generation is connected. Through our commitment to entertaining, inspiring, and educating, we aim to create a space where the performing arts are a beacon of empowerment, unity, and transformative change for all.

Values

Community

Our greatest strength lies in the people who surround us, forming a web of relationships that fosters a sense of belonging. LiveArts extends invitations to individuals from diverse backgrounds, encouraging people to come together in conversation and appreciation.

Entertainment

Regardless of the medium, genre, or subject matter, the arts should entertain. Entertainment transcends mere amusement. It offers human connection through experience, creating unity through laughter, awe, and empathy.

Inclusion

Beyond filling a room with a diverse array of voices, inclusion is about empowerment and genuinely listening to what those voices have to share. LiveArts strives to foster an inclusive environment that cultivates open-mindedness and an appreciation for diverse points of view.

Innovation

The performing arts industry has entered a new era. In the spirit of positive change, we strive to restructure power systems, foster true ensemble-driven innovation, and promote collaborative art making. At LiveArts, we celebrate new ideas, uplift unique perspectives, and encourage people to challenge the status quo.
