Vaughn Irving

Vaughn Irving has been doing theatre since age 8. Growing up in Santa Fe, he began taking classes at Santa Fe Performing Arts, then studied under the incomparable Joey Chavez as a student at Santa Fe High School. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University, and will soon complete his master's degree in Arts Administration at University of Kentucky.
Professionally, Vaughn has appeared in over 60 productions in 9 states and the District of Columbia. In his 17 years as a professional actor he has performed in musicals, Shakespeare, comedy, drama; he has portrayed everything from civil war soldiers to space aliens.
He spent 5 years as a member of the teaching faculty at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, where he taught acting, stage combat, Greek theatre, audition technique, and helped create a new voice and speech curriculum. He has former students working professionally in theatre and film on both coasts and everywhere in between.
He has written and produced 2 award-winning musicals Disco Jesus and the Apostles of Funk and You or Whatever I Can Get. He served as the Artistic Director of the Santa Fe Playhouse from 2015-2019, where he produced 36 productions and occasionally even got onstage himself. He is excited about all the things that can happen in the Greer Garson Theatre Center, and what the GGTC can do for Santa Fe and the surrounding areas.
